Join the City’s Quarterly Permit Advisory Forum on Marine Outfalls

The City of Cape Town’s Water and Sanitation Directorate invites residents, stakeholders, and interested parties to attend the next quarterly meeting of the Permit Advisory Forum (PAF) on Friday, 22 August 2025. This session will focus on the permit conditions governing the marine outfalls at Camps Bay, Hout Bay and Green Point.

The public forum provides a platform for dialogue with the City on the treatment and management of effluent discharged through these outfalls.
 
Attendees will have the opportunity to engage with City and specialist consultants on their presentations about the latest developments on compliance measures, environmental considerations and ongoing initiatives to effectively manage coastal water quality.
 
Councillor Zahid Badroodien, Mayoral Committee Member for Water and Sanitation, emphasised the importance of public involvement: ‘By involving the public in these technical discussions, we are able to broaden understanding, address concerns directly and keep improving our operations.’
